Version of Southern food – Brown in the south 

Beard Foundation announces:

@browninthesouth supper series features a team of celebrated chefs of Indian descent who live and cook in the American South—and explore what it means to be “brown in the South”.

This summer, the skilled team headed to the #beardhouse for a pop-up with a stellar lineup of #jbfa winners, nominees, and semifinalists in tow: @cheetieku@ashagomez@meherwanirani, and @kissmybhatt1 (who nabbed our Best Chef: South this year!).

These chefs shared *their* version of Southern food, which included sweet potato–jalapeño biscuits with tomato jam, heirloom tomatoes with corn chaat, Indian summer thali with #beardhouse purveyor @sshrimppartner, and plenty more.
